Hypocrisy in Kenner

Having run for office in Kenner, I know how some of the activists there will just focus on one issue and refuse to look at anything else. This is true in politics nationwide. However, some people in Kenner have turned their ferocity into an “art-form”.

Several activists have come together to demand the resignationof one Kenner Councilwoman because of one picture showing a “suggestive pose”. One of them, Arthur Tudela, was on Jeff Crouere’s show this morning explaining his case for her resignation. I had to call in and call him out on his hypocrisy. See, I asked him if he has called for David Vitter’s resignation as well. He said no, that the circumstances are apples and oranges, and that even though she wasn’t acting in an official capacity that she would have never met the guy in the picture had she not been a Kenner elected official.

My response was that yes, the issues are apples and oranges. David Vitter admitting to violating the law and to cheating on his wife. The Kenner Councilwoman did not do either of those things. And David Vitter would have never met the D.C. Madam had he not been elected to Congress. So the argument by Mr. Tudela is clearly flawed. The failure of him and others on their witch-hunt to demand Vitter’s resignation hurts their credibility on this issue.

And of course, the obligatory WWVD.

Yes, it is apples and oranges (or is it bananas?) Vitter being a man, has needs, so he can be excused, boy will be boys and all that. That woman, however, did not show the proper level of virginal modesty, and probably wore pants or something.

There might be some sexism involved in the hypocrisy. However, the double standard here makes me think about the possibility of something else fueling this fire. I really don’t know what it would be. Perhaps she voted against something (or for something) that someone else didn’t like. Perhaps something happened behind the scenes and she wouldn’t work with someone who wanted something done. I don’t know what it could be. However, the amount of coverage this incident is getting is disproportional to what it should be getting (even for some of the holier than thou people who are activists in Kenner).

“David Vitter admitting to violating the law and to cheating on his wife.” NOT

This is always the trouble with anything you say, DanZ. You insist on lacing it with your madeup BS.

Oh, and didn’t you get the memo. That “100 Year” remark is a lie, too.

This is really a shortcoming of you Dim’s that you should work on to fix.

Yes, I know it would be very much out of character for you and your lying buddy, Chris, to actually tell the truth, but hey, it’s your character that really needs fixing.

Hey Deryl, how are you today? Vitter admitted to “serious sins” involving the D.C. prostitute scandal.

If you would like to sit and think he was talking about making cookies, you are free to delude yourself. Vitter is free to correct me and say that he did not have sex that he paid for with another woman during his marriage. Until then, I will assume that serious sins involving an escort service would involve an affair and prostitution.

I am always amused when Deryl “the Liar” tries to claim others are lying. You, of course, are far to busy kissing Jindal’s hind quarters to actually know what the truth is. You probably still think that Jindal was serious when he said he would bring meaningful ethics reform.
