Wonderful…
After President Obama speaks to the nation, Louisiana gets to be embarrassed (yet again) by another one of our Republicans. This time it is Charles Boustany, instead of Bobby Jindal, who will be giving the response. While I don’t expect Congressman Boustany to speak like Mr. Rogers, I fully expect him to make Louisiana look foolish. Hopefully him looking foolish will help drive people away from his stance and towards meaningful healthcare reform.
He will probably repeat the tired old lines that the way to fix healthcare is to get more tort reform. He will probably bring up healthcare rationing (though I don’t think he will go so far as to actually say the term “death panel”). And when the media debunks all of the false claims he makes about HR 3200 and other healthcare plans, they will probably bring up that Boustany is a “birther“. Yet another embarrassing feather to put in our cap.
