Uncreative people… *sigh*
I am sick and tired of companies not being creative with their products but still making money. A local t-shirt company was just showed on WWL with t-shirts saying “Department of Domeland Defense”. Why not Department of Domeland SECURITY??? And they had skulls on them too…. WTF??? How do skulls have anything to do with New Orleans, Saints, or anything else pertaining to football? Too bad I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, because my D-Yat-ification t-shirts would be AWESOME! ;)

Just to educate you - in Football there is a Defense and an Offense - there is not a “security”! You are right, not only do you not have a creative bone, you lack knowledge as well. The skulls may not have anything to do with football but stretch you mind out and grasp that the shirt was designed by a New Orleanian whose parents are from Haiti (where part of the proceeds of the sale are going to help earthquake survivors) and in Haiti, the religion is largely a mix of Voodoo and roman Catholicism. Understanding this, the holiday “Day of the Dead” is celebrated in Haiti as well as many other countries. The Day of the Dead festivals include much celebration and partying. The day itself is to honor and pray for your deceased loved ones. Do you get it now?

Actually, had you read what I wrote, I said that I did not have an “artistic” bone in my body. Now that we have gotten over your inability to read…
If you are using the word “Domeland” you are obviously making a reference to Homeland (i.e. Homeland Security). And there is nothing on the shirt to make me think that axes and skulls around a fleur de lis were in reference to Haiti.
And before you go off any more, rambling about how I need to stretch my mind or that I am attacking some charitable cause, here is the video from WWL that caused this post.
Notice, there is absolutely zero reference to Haiti or that the shirts are for a charitable cause.
If you have ever bothered to read my blog, follow me through politics, or just get to know me personally, you would know that I am all about helping out my fellow man. And had WWL not failed to report the most important thing about those shirts, I would have likely held off my criticism (or at least made it more constructive) in light of the reason that those shirts were made.
But all I saw from the WWL report was that this guy was trying to make a profit from the Saints victories.
Do you get it now?
