I was watching the show on National Geographic called 9/11: Science and Conspiracy. In it they conduct some scientific experiments that seek to debunk the claims of the “9/11 truth” movement. They even had the director of the “Loose Change” video as well as some other people with advanced college degrees who believe that the explanation given by our government describing the events of September 11th are not true. They brought on these people to show their reactions to the experiments intended to debunk the claims that 9/11 was an inside job. I was not surprised to see that each time they showed an experiment, there was always some excuse as to why they couldn’t believe it. There was even one comment where the guy with an advanced college degree stated that even if all their evidence is correct, that the show didn’t disprove their theory that it was a controlled explosion because they didn’t say why it couldn’t have been one. The show basically managed to help prove that the people who are in the “9/11 truth” movement have no desire for truth. They just want to believe what they want to believe regardless of any evidence showed to them.
Sound familiar? Birthers and Deathers are people who are entrenched in their believes that Obama is up to something nefarious and that their “cause” is the proof.
Birthers keep insisting that Obama is not a natural born citizen and is not eligible to be president, even though their certificates that they have shown have been proven to be fakes multiple times and in order for their theory to be true the mother of a half black child born prior to the civil rights act of 1965 would have not only needed to believe that her son would one day grow up to be President, but she would have had to convince the Hawaii Department of Records and the hospitals to go alone with a lie.
Deathers keep insisting that the legislation that President Obama supports would institute “death panels” that would require end of life consultations for people on Medicare. The fact that the section of the bill has no mandate to get end of life counseling and that the person who first pushed for that kind of legislation was a Republican and not Obama matters not to these people. All that matters is that they want to believe it, regardless of the truth behind it.
And now we can add another group to the list, the PASSers. Again, those are the people who want to keep their children home from school (without repercussions) because they are afraid to let their children listen to the words of someone who has a “radical and extreme leftist” agenda. Of course, the President has now released the speech that he will be giving to the students online. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what is included in this speech. There is nothing radical, or liberal, or extreme in the text. But why do I not believe that the PASSers will be happy at this text? Why do I believe that they will still keep their children home? Well, just like the Truthers, the Birthers, and the Deathers, it doesn’t matter how much evidence you show them. The words do not matter to them. The truth does not matter to them. All that matters is that they need to attack the person in charge, the person who they do not like, and they will remain outraged even when there is nothing to be outraged about. This is why I continue to say that these people should be mocked and ridiculed and perhaps even shamed for their actions.
