Shaw group wins contract with Indian firm
Friday, March 7th, 2008The Shaw Group won a contract with Guru Gobind Singh Refineries Limited, a subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. The Shaw Group donated $50,000to the LCRM. T.A. Barfield also supported the goals of the LCRM and donated $5K to the Bobby Jindal campaign (on 11/29/2006, before Jindal had “made up his mind” on whether to run for Governor… heh). Tim Barfield, President and COO of Shaw, donated$4000 to the Bobby Jindal campaign for Congress in 2006 and $2000 in 2004.
I just find it interesting that the first major news of a Louisiana business getting a contract in India after the election was a significant donor to Jindal’s campaigns and the LCRM.
Update: Tim Barfield is currently Bobby Jindal’s Secretary of Labor.
